Middle Georgia State University Breaks Ground on New Eastman Hangar
MACON, Ga. – Team members from Piedmont Construction Group enjoyed MGA’s Dinner in the Hangar celebration on October 30, 2024, to acknowledge the groundbreaking of the new hangar in Eastman, Georgia.
The Eastman Campus is devoted almost entirely to aviation programs. It is the only campus in the University System of Georgia that includes flight training and airport management programs. Having recently completed the construction of MGA’s two new 14-bay hangars, PCG is excited for the additional phase that will include approximately 31,000-GSF, two new free-standing buildings: a maintenance hangar, approximately 26,000 GSF, to support FAA-required periodic maintenance of the Eastman training aircraft fleet, and a campus plant operations building, which is approximately 5,000-GSF.
The project also included the backfill renovation and selective reconfiguration of approximately 16,000-GSF of existing building space to create a variety of instructional, student support, and faculty office spaces.
