The Lofts at D.T. Walton is a transformative mixed-use redevelopment led by Macon-Bibb County and the Urban Development Authority, designed to convert an underutilized surface parking lot in the heart of downtown Macon into a vibrant residential, parking, and retail destination.
This multi-phase project will introduce approximately 100 new loft-style residential units, ground-level retail opportunities, and a new structured parking deck, expanding both housing availability and parking capacity within the Central Business District. The development reflects the County’s commitment to purposeful downtown investment and the continued revitalization of Macon’s urban core.
Selected through a competitive request for proposals process, Piedmont Construction Group is providing Construction Management services for the project. The Lofts at D.T. Walton will help meet the growing demand for downtown living while supporting NewTown Macon’s strategic initiative to expand residential density and economic activity throughout the district.
Once complete, the project will serve as a catalyst for continued growth, adding new housing, businesses, and infrastructure that strengthen downtown Macon’s long-term vitality.
