Piedmont Construction Group acted as Construction Manager At-Risk for the construction of two new four-story wood frame structures located on the Mercer University campus. These buildings were erected on concrete strip footings and included masonry and glass exterior skins. Each phase consisted of ground floor retail and classroom space, with the residential units being located on the 2nd-4th floors. The site sizes were 0.89 acre and 0.43 acre respectively.
The Lofts at Mercer Village were constructed on an active campus and contained ground floor users comprised of the Mercer University School of Collaborative Journalism, The Macon Telegraph editorial offices, GPBA editorial offices, two restaurants, a bookstore, a coffee bar, tanning salon, study areas and student amenities area.
