The addition and renovation of Dacula High School was completed in multiple phases on an occupied campus. Piedmont Construction Group constructed a new 143,000 square feet, four-story tower containing classrooms, laboratories, administrative offices and a 500-seat Performing Arts Center. The 75,000 square feet renovation consisted of expanding the kitchen and dining areas, upgrading existing classrooms, science laboratory and multi-purpose room.
The job site was limited to three acres and constrained by existing structures and roads on all sides. The site constraints required extensive scheduling throughout all phases of construction. The building is comprised of structural steel frame and the envelope is masonry veneer on metal studs.
