After 30 years, the Capitol Theatre re-opened to the general public on January 18, 2006. The theatre operates as a movie house and live entertainment venue. Recent upgrades to the sound and lighting equipment support movies, live music and theatre productions in a state of the art manner. The theatre is also equipped with the latest business technology to support corporate meetings in a professional and innovative manner. Piedmont Construction Group played an integral role is helping to preserve this historic Macon landmark.

PCG served as Construction Manager and provided all associated services for $0.  PCG called upon various subcontractors and suppliers to do the same and was able to obtain approximately $ 750,000 in services and supplies provided to the Theatre restoration project.

Additionally, PCG provided excess materials and equipment for free.

Various PCG employees continue to serve on The Board of Directors assisting this entity with fundraising and oversight.
